The story:
As the youngest of six kids, Courtney quickly learned to be creative in order to get noticed. Anything for a smile – a wig, a beard, mom's old burgundy velvet suit, even dressing up as a life size tub of popcorn. Who would've thought years later she'd be writing, producing, performing and touring a new solo show throughout the US and Canada? Well, based on the following, anyone could see this as a natural order of events. The details: Graduate of the Dell 'Arte International School of Physical Theatre (California). Honors Degree in Theater Arts from Richmond College (London). Resident artist of Messenger Theatre Company (NYC). Touring member of Faustwork Mask Theatre (Toronto). Toured U.S. with the Dell 'Arte Players Company and the Tennessee Project. Co-founded Teatre Pape, an improvisational mask theatre ensemble, based in Goteborg, Sweden. Her self-produced show, A Story About Magic, appeared in the 2005 Prague Fringe Festival to packed houses. Directed Chris Caswell's Maudlin Dementia Returns to the Stage - a hit on the 2005 Canadian Fringe Festival circuit and voted "Best Bet" of the Orlando Fringe. Starred in award winning indie short "Lutkoski Fishsticks" directed by Matt Lambert Studied clowning with Sue Morrison (Toronto), Moshe Cohen (Clowns Without Borders) and Ricardo Puccetti (LUME, Brazil). Come see Courtney this summer as Poofy du Vey in her new solo show, Burden of Poof! The rest: download Courtney's resume © 2006 Courtney Cunningham all rights reserved photography by Kathi C.
